ROLLING STOCK MANUFACTURING

One of the most important factors in the rail sector is transport means including locomotives, coaches and wagons. VNR is now capable of manufacturing a part of these facilities for domestic uses and exporting purposes. With its three member companies namely Gia Lam Train Company, Di An Train Company and Hai Phong Carriage Joint-Stock Company which have hundred years of experience and have been equipped with hi-tech and modern equipment such as Computerized Numerically Controlled Machine (CNC), welding robot, axle grinding machine etc. VNR is able to provide maintenance and repair services for various types of rolling stock as well as to build up the new ones.

During the recent years, VNR' rolling stock manufacturers have achieved magnificent results such as from year 2001 to 2005 to build up about 1,300 cars in various types including double-desk cars, self-discharging wagons, specific-purposed wagons and deluxe coaches, push-pull trains and recently to assemble and build high power diesel-electric locomotives. A number of initiatives have been applied in order to meet the increasing demand for rolling stock. Its contributions have taken vital roles in the success of VNR. These companies have been awarded noble prizes of government for their achievements and contributions
