Introduction of Vietnam Railways Corporation

Vietnam Railways re-organized into a national corporation, namely Vietnam Railway Corporation, at Decree No. 34/2003/QĐ-TTg dated March 04, 2003 by the Prime Minister consists of different self-sufficing and financially dependent enterprises

Main business activities of the corporation
- Providing railway transport and multi-modal transport services, doing joint ventures with domestic and international organizations in railway business and other businesses according to the law.
- Managing and making the best use of the capital, natural resources, land and other resources authorized by the State to accomplish tasks of business operation and development.
- Doing joint ventures, investing in stocks and shares, buying part of or all the asset of other enterprises according to the law.
- Doing research, applying scientific and technological advances, and training human resources in order to meet the development needs of the railway sector.
